1 in 5 children have food insecurity.
Approximately 1 in 5 children face food insecurity in America, a concerning statistic that highlights the struggle many families have in providing consistent, nutritious meals. For young athletes, proper nutrition is particularly critical. Adequate food intake fuels their growth, supports their intense physical activity, and helps in cognitive development. Without reliable access to nutritious food, these children are at a higher risk of developing health issues, experiencing reduced academic performance, and facing challenges in athletic development. Ensuring food security and supplementation for all kids not only promotes their overall well-being but also empowers them to excel in academics and athletics.
Athlete Nutrition Program
We run a dedicated nutrition program aimed at providing nutritional supplements to underserved athletes. This program is designed to ensure that young athletes receive the necessary nutrients to support their performance and overall health. The distribution of these supplements is facilitated through schools, with coaches playing a crucial role in getting the supplements to the athletes.
Currently, this nutrition program is being piloted in one school. Based on its success, there are plans to expand the program to reach more schools and athletes in need.
